Merry Jesus Birthday!

Hi Ladies! I can tell we are sooooo busy because no one is writing and when I see you----Wwwweeelllll do I look as tired as you all?! LOL! Let's keep focused on JESUS--the ONLY reason for the season! The battle for Christmas rages on! Hubby and I are doing our level best to focus on those we love and care about instead of trying to find the "perfect" material gifts. Enjoying time together and not "the stuff"! :) Actually he is great at it! His motto: KEEP IT SIMPLE!!! He is always after me to slow down and reeelllliiiiissshhhh the moment! As you can see, he is my special gift from GOD to me---keeps me anchored and focused. I pray that each of you have a JOYFULL(Jesus/Others/Yourself--full) holiday season and that health and vitality for you and your family is one of your great presents from our Creator. Keep on the lookout for mission opportunities GOD allows us to be involved in!
I need prayer for our daughter---she found out this week that she is going to have to have another surgery on her leg (the one she broke this summer). Probably in January and boy do they need a financial blessing as well as a healing touch from the Master! Thank you! I love you all and am so thankful for all of you~~my sisters! Thirsty Granny

Thankful

Thanksgiving is so wonderful.  A holiday devoted to being Thankful.  We have much to be Thankful for, that is for sure.  I am thankful for Tenth Street Baptist Church, A Godly Leader of the church-Brother Ron, my Sunday School Class Dry Bones, my friends in the church body (especially my sisters!)  my family, children that love Jesus, my husband whom the Lord has joined me in flesh to, parents who raised me up with a commitment to serve the Lord, a Father to my firstborn who loves the Lord and shares the same Faith, Songs of Worship the Lord has given us that warm my soul like nothing else, a country where we may worship without fear of imprisonment or death, and I am even Thankful for the long-sufferings of this Earth that imposes trials on all believers like myself.  I can say that in the last month I have learned how to "Praise Him in the Storm" and to say Thank-you Lord for the trials you allow believers to go thru to strengthen and preserve our faith.  We have touched on this in several discussions in the church body lately.  If you are a Christian, you can not escape trials.  Brace yourself as you are in one of three positions....1) Coming into a trial 2) In the midst of a trial, or 3) On your way out of a trial.  Thank goodness we are all at different stages of this, as we are needed to comfort others during their trials!  I am so thankful to those of you who have been praying, comforting me, and strengthening me in the last month.  I love you all, and am so Thankful that God is so faithful.  Most of all I Thank-you Lord Jesus for the sacrifice and price you paid for my sins.  The Lord has been bringing me to see the "controlling" side of my nature that I need to let go of.  I ask you Father to continue to work in me to see the rottenness of my sin and to be open to letting you "Control" me.  I trust you with my future completely and know that you can handle anything that comes my way or any of my friend's way.  Help me to not lose myself in fleeting emotions, not to be anxious about the future, but to hang onto the promises in your Word.  Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you for the majesty of your creation and for the opportunity to enter into your presence one day.  I can hardly wait! I love you Lord. Amen.

PS....What are you Thankful for?!?!

Empowered........

Thank you so much for your posts. I am always so encouraged and uplifted. It is so important that we do stay connected and that we encourage one another personally and in our prayers. More importantly that we pray for the discernment of the Holy Spirit in our lives.This has been something that I have taken to heart and want so much in my life as I know all my sisters do as well. Satan can cause so much havoc in our lives emotionally when we do things we feel like God has called us and led us to do. He makes us doubt, feel foolish and even crazy!! Yes at times Satan does trip us up. He is so deceptive. Be encouraged my beloved if God calls us he will enable us. When Faith rises Doubt Descends!!Amazing things happen when people are filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit!So I encourage you today pray for knowledge and Spiritual wisdom, Pray that individually we would live a life that is pleasing to the Lord.That our motives would be pure and holy, that we would empty our selves of any selfish desire. We are completely dependent on you Lord! Lets be courageous women For Jesus! Empowered and filled with his Spirit today and forever more!!! In Jesus name...........

Renewal Needed....just me or you too????

Wow, am I in need of some Renewal.....my last 10 days has been jampacked, and my spirit has paid the price!  Thankfully I had a nice visit with with ThirstyGranny today (I love her posting name!)  and I realized a little later how I must keep the Heavenly Goal Post in sight no matter how many tackles come my or my teammates way on the run.  We must keep running, zigzagging, moving and stumbling toward that Final Field Goal!  It's so easy to get discouraged, but we must remember our Goal! Jesus is our final destination!  Thanks ThirstyGranny for uplifting me!

Sisters, we are such a vital part of lifting each other up!!!....I am getting soooooo excited about the Ladies "Shampoo Shower" I will have the privilege of hosting on Saturday Nov. 12th.  If anyone has any ideas or things they want to share that day, just get in touch with me or ThirstyGranny.  If you would like to help prepare any food that would be awesome too.  I am going with the theme of "Brunch Snacks".  Appetizers, dips, brunch type foods should be easy enough I think.  The theme for the devotion is "Daily Cleansing and Renewal from the Inside-Out".  Please help me make a special effort to reach out to all of the ladies in the church and invite them to come.  This Sunday I will be involved with 2 back to back Sonrise Church Visits....Hatton Chapel at 9am and South Evans at 10:30am, so unfortunately I won't be worshipping with you physically this Sunday, but know that I will be with you in Spirit.

Until I see you again don't lose heart and don't worry too much if trouble has come your way!  What troubles do we have with Jesus as our Savior!  I love you all! Blessings, MK

Good Morning!
What a month this has been!!! I Corinthians 15:58 is our First Place memory verse this week and so very appropriate!

~~ 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.~~

OOOOh how GOD underlines every where I turn! :) I know Sister ThirstyMomSJ2 has been sick and ThirstyMomTM3 also. ThirstyMomMK1 has been/is in Texas @ a meeting. The enemy doesn't want us to stay connected~~~Hence, I am reaching out in space with hugs of prayer to all of you

~~~"Our Magnificent HOLY FATHER~~~Thank you for all my sisters. I ask LORD that YOU wrap them tightly in YOUR loving, protective arms. FATHER, give us the strength and courage to be steadfast-immovable-and abounding in YOUR work. We claim YOUR promise LORD that it will NOT be in vain! Bless them as we go our separate paths and I pray Father that YOUR HOLY SPIRIT washes through their homes, husbands, and children as my sisters focus on YOU and the work YOU have ordained them to do. I love YOU LORD~~~as I do them!":)
My verse of the day!
''And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart'' -Galatians 6:9 Quotes by DodsonEng
I have a bible quote app on my phone. This was my verse for today. It encouraged me greatly and thought it might encourage you as well. Have a great day, ladies. I love you all!
Hello Sisters!
Monday @ 6:30am was working on First Place Bible study and WHAM! The Holy Spirit started feeding me our "Shampoo Shower" devotion! LOL I love it!!! So yes Melissa, I will be there. Can hardly wait to see what GOD has in store for us!!!! :) Then later that same day--I was VERY attacked by a completely unexpected source!!! I got in the flesh and was angry(for about 5 minutes) because I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to zip my lips very TIGHTLY! So I did--went home, shared with my super hubby and asked him to pray for me--then I prayed off and on all night! The next morning~a solution from our HOLY FATHER! It was like a ton of bricks had mysteriously been lifted off my shoulders and the sun was shining brightly again!!! :) Hang in there ladies because I am sure that this group of~~dare I say "Radical" women are making the enemy furious!~~~why else would all of us be under attack at the same time!!! Hallelujah!!! I have maintained a good attitude, kept praying, studying our Father's word and "going about" doing good despite the attacks and guess what? Today I got to tell a young father of three that he is most loved by the MASTER CREATOR and that he was no "accident" which he sooooo needed to hear. It was such a blessing to see the difference in his demeanor and expression in his whole appearance as the truth of that fact was soaking into his heart, mind and soul! What an AWESOME AND LOVING GOD we serve!!!! Very humbling! So~~~Hupomaino! the battle cry has been shouted! Whewwwwwwhoooooo! I love you all my mighty spiritual warrior sisters!!!! Thirsty Granny
Just wanted to tell you I am thinking of all of you.  My week as been going so fast paced that I wish I could slow it down and each day has been a new set of trials and triumphs (but this week has felt mostly like trials!) .  I am sorry I haven't been able to one on one connect with as many of you wonderful ladies as I would like to in the last week or so.
I am still waiting to see which Saturday in November will work for the next "towel shower".....(my work schedule isn't quite worked out yet!) and I am throwing out the idea of a "Shampoo Shower" theme for this one.  I think doing something different can keep these showers fresh and stirring to the soul.  I would love to have a theme related to "cleansing and washing".  I talked to DH about doing the devotion again, but will be in touch with some of the rest of you if you would like to bring something or help.  I also would like your ideas on whether we keep this group small, or prepare for inviting friends or what not....
Anyway more than anything just wanted to say God Bless you all and I look forward to seeing each of you soon! In Jesus' love, MK
Let's be Contagious!
My beautiful and gracious Lord, How I praise you and thank you. All I have is yours Lord, and I am not even worthy of any of it.Your Holy Spirit is moving through your people like a raging fire, I feel it everyday it grows stronger Lord. Give us a passion for you that is contagious that is over flowing, let your Holy Spirit that lives in us pour out onto others. Lord you have given us so much power, you live in us! Oh Father I pray you would release that power to the fullest for your glory. I pray lives would be changed and souls would be saved. But when the Holy Spirit has come upon us, you will receive POWER and will tell people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, through out Judea in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8
Oh Lord how I long for Jerusalem!!!! For you alone Lord know the desires of my heart!! Fill this broken vessel up, that I may serve you and glorify you all the days of my life. Reach down from Heaven Lord and lift up your people. We need you so much. Forgive me Lord for my sins and my wicked ways I want so much for you to look down and smile and be pleased with my life.
Please Lord help me to do the right thing always!!
I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you. And here is how to measure it- the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends. You are my friends if you obey me. I no longer call you servants, because a master doesn't confide in his servants. Now you are my friends since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn't chose me I chose YOU. I appointed YOU to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. I COMMAND YOU TO LOVE EACH OTHER. John 15 12-17
There is a children's song I sing around the house to my kids, Its very simple " Do the right thing" That is my prayer for each of us that we would all do the right thing, and when we don't that God would give us a Spirit of discontentment, that we would be so unsettled in our Spirit and quick to repent and make things right with our Savior and our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Now I have a confession to make, I could never sign the wall in Sunday school, I never could. I hope and pray someday I will be able to live up to those words.I simply know how very wretched I am and can be, so I pray that God would continue to have his way in my life, and he would continue to cut off every branch that does not produce fruit.
Remain in me, and I will remain in you.For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine,and you cannot be fruitful apart from me. John 15:4 I pray each of us would represent our Lord well today... You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and wine. Psalm 4:8 Pray for me!!! May you be glorified today my lord!!!
The Bigger Picture
Ladies~~Thank you for your bold step of faith in starting this exciting adventure for us all as we seek Him! And all the other commitments you have made!!! I went to hear Mr. Bill Federer last night @ church and intend to go again tonight at the college. This is very serious---as I sat there last night I kept thinking, " Oh my wonderful Father, we have not a battle in front of us, but The War! Open our eyes Holy Spirit to the bigger picture---what is really at stake!!!" I cried out in my soul with anguish in my heart and wondered if this was how God's people from the Old Testament to the New felt at times as they looked at the shape of the world and their own lives. And with that thought HOPE sprang again in my heart as I remembered our Father's promise in II Chronicles 7:14----"if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." I am sooo hungry and thirsty for God and the healing only HE can bring to my life and this country!!! We nnnneeeeeeddddd HIM! Again thank you~~~~I love you all! :)
Lord, prepare me!
Lord, please prepare my heart as I get ready to leave the comforts of my bed and get ready for this busy day.
I want to constantly remember that this is the day that You have made and that You have a great purpose for it.
I specifically ask for your grace so that i will be to be able to be transparent and real. Lord, I feel you moving and transforming during our sunday school time. I pray today for openness from everyone involved. Please prepare the hearts and minds of our leaders so that they will be fearless and follow the Spirit's leading! I love you Lord and I do pray You remove any wicked way in me. I do not want to grieve or block the Holy Spirit. I pray that my fleshly desires will be gone and that I stand on your promises! I want to pray for your guidance and leading when it comes to struggles in our church body. I pray that my life would be right and shine, because I know Lord that my stinky attitude about their stinky attitude is wrong. Thank you for loving me! I pray others see Your love in me!
Amen!
Awesome Day
Great day, and what a blessing it was. The towel shower was a hit, what a great way to connect and get into each others hearts. One of the wonderful women I admire asked if she could trade her new towel for the one with the holes.She said that towel looked like all her others and she wanted to hang it up so when she looked at it she would remember "today." I loved that, and I love her. I catch myself hanging on every word she says when she speaks. I am so moved and touched by her simplicity. I love the way our GOD works. He uses simple towels to share so many wonderful messages with us.I dont want to miss anything God uses to teach me so I am praying my eyes would stay fixed on him!! Restore to me again the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey you.Then I will teach your ways to sinners and they will return to you Psalm 52 12-13
Another Awesome Day the Lord Hath Made!
The towel shower was so great.  I started this blog originally more for personal journaling reasons, but today we decided it would be wonderful to share with other ladies who are "thirsty".  You don't have to be a "mom" to be a part of this.  To post, you must accept an invitation thru the email address you are using.  You may either "post" by clicking on "new post".  Or "comment" on someone else's post.  It takes a little bit to learn how to do it.  Just sign in and click on things until you find the right link.  I'm still trying to figure it out.  Don't worry, you'll get it!  Reading the posts is so therapeutic for me.  I love being reminded how God is working in each of our lives daily!  Thanks so much to T.M. for hosting the shower.  I can't wait for our next one!  I LOVE YOU GIRLS!  Melissa......
PS.  if you don't want to use your real name....when you sign up, choose a "user name" you can.  You can do ThirstyMom#....whatever is next if you want.  1,2,3 are taken right now, so go with 4,5...whatever if you want, or you can choose something else.....
So encouraged....
wow ! I havent been on my computer for several days and I am so encouraged by your posts!! I wish I would of read this earlier. Thank you M for your courage to share last night. Last night was the begining of something good. God is defin. working and I know things will all work out according to his plan. Thank you both so much,I look so forward to seeing you BOTH on Saturday. I want so much for this to be more than just a towel swap.I really want to connect with these ladies and I am praying we will. I know there are more women that are hungry for God, and that are seeking to be closer to him. Inside of me I have such a deep desire for Jesus,to the point that its hard for me to concentrate on much of anything else, and lately I havent been able to get many things accomplished. Tonight I have though but that could be because I drank too much coffee, Imagine that!! Thank you Lord for coffee. I have really been reading alot about spiritual gifts this week. I have read these passages many times in the Bible. For some reason this time I am drawn to these specific scriptures and I am totally excited!!! I am curious why the body of Christ doesn't talk about their gifts more. The bible says we should desire the special abilities the Spirit gives us, and we should prayer for the gifts that are the most benificial to the church. I am really curious who has the gift of performing miracles and prophesy and so on.Since the Holy Spirit lives in us these gifts are there but is it possible that they could be tucked away and we have undiscovered gifts somewhere within us?? This is exciting! I am praying for these gifts as I continue to be drawn to the scriptures. Holy Spirit have all of me today and always. Help me to represent you well today my lord......
Wow....he IS faithful!
I had several specific "small" prayer requests that God answered yesterday.  During the day a Christian friend called me with an uplifting answer to something I've been waiting for concerning a fundraiser for the Children's Home.  Later my husband and I had a wonderful talk and time together....something we needed and I cherish, I also spoke with a colleague about her marriage, something she approached me and called me about.  I was able to share advice I've wanted to share with her for years (I pray Dear Heaveanly Father, you open up her and her husband's hearts to each other, Amen), and lastly S called me last night and shared the conversation she had had with a fellow sister in Christ that by no coincidence shows GOD is working to UNIFY us!  What do all of these above examples prove....that we can trust God with the desires of our hearts and I am reminding myself to be Thankful for all!  I want to remind myself as I write these words how very much God loves us and has put a "seal" on his claiming us as his own.  Each morning is a free gift from God renewed each day!  Praise God and may we walk in the peace of his love and share in the free gift of salvation! Good Morning! I can't wait for the rest of the week (wait, the rest of the day!)to see what other amazing things God wants to do in our lives!
One Day at a Time
I had a good Monday.....Praising God because he empowered me to keep my Monday committment (the other sisters know what it is).  Somehow I feel stronger each time I do this.  I had a meeting at the Children's Home last night.  That went well.  It always reminds me how lucky my kids are to have been born in a home where their parents love them and want God's best for them.  I think I'll refer to the other sisters now as "S" and "T".  S-how did your Monday experience go?  T-thinking of you and good news, I should be able to come to the Towel Shower!  I think I can leave our booth early at the Healthfair.  Miss you girls and look forward to worshiping our Lord together soon.  Your prayers both made me cry.  Thank-you...Thank-you.  Father,  Thank-you Lord Jesus for bringing me close to these gals....I've been craving it so long, and your timing is so wonderful.  Thank-you for the wisdom Richard Green shared with us this week, and Thank-you for my husband who loves me.  I pray that as I serve you each day, that my motivations are pure and that I remember to consult you with even the smallest decisions.  I love you Lord.  Amen
Rookie
I have no idea what I am doing with this.  I set up a Blog, where did that come from?  I thought maybe we could track this experience together and write what we are feeling as we continue this search.  When I say "we" I am talking about the 2 very special sisters in Christ I connected with today.  We don't know how God wants to use us, but we know we want to be willing.  We are truly Thirsty.  Ready or not, here we go.
